The Christmas tale of the digitization train
Once upon a time, there was a very special train called the “Christmas train of digitization”. Decorated with glittering fairy lights, sparkling circuits and glowing data streams, it shone in the snowy winter night. This train promised an extraordinary journey – straight into the future. But there was one condition: Only the brave ones who boarded in time were allowed to experience this magical ride.
The Christmas train was not like other trains. It didn’t stay in one place for long, but rolled purposefully and quickly through the glistening snowy landscape. The villagers gathered curiously on the platform to marvel at the fascinating sight. Some immediately understood the possibilities this train offered. They had heard about the wonders of digitalization: borderless markets, global networking and the ability to change the world with a good idea.
“If we jump on now, we can be part of something big!” shouted the brave among them. Without hesitating for long, they grabbed their ideas and jumped on the bandwagon – even if they didn’t have all the answers. They knew that perfection is often the enemy of progress and that sometimes you just have to start to find your way.
But not everyone was convinced. Some remained hesitant on the platform. “Why should we give up our tried and tested trade?” they asked skeptically. “That’s how we’ve always done it, and it’s worked.” They looked after the Christmas train, which disappeared into the distance with a bright glow. All that remained was the silence of the wintry night.
Those who got on board experienced an incredible journey. They learned how they could conquer entire markets with the speed and possibilities of digitalization. Small ideas grew into big successes and their courage was richly rewarded. They were the ones who actively helped shape the future – courageous, curious and open to the new.
The moral of the story? The Christmas train of digitalization won’t last forever. Those who have the courage to get on board, even if not everything is perfect yet, will be rewarded with incredible opportunities. But those who hesitate too long will only see the tail lights of progress – and will be left behind while others change the world.
